Colorado lovin'

Just arrived in Colorado after a sleepy and long drive from LA! From California, to Vegas, to Utah and now Colorado, I am pretty tired of looking through a window to see the outside world. I was so excited when we arrived in Vail, Colorado. It's a beautiful town with one market, a pizza place, some villages and absolutely delicious cuisine! Our hotel is right on the Colorado River..(in which we are going rafting on aaaaahhhhh!) Our trip will be full of lots of hiking, adventuring, eating, family bonding, visiting with friends, some breweries hopefully and enjoying having no responsibilities :) I wanted to post a couple photos of our hotel, The Westin Riverfront and a few photos that inspire me today! Have a beautiful week.

Some photos from our hotel:
view of the hotel, wish it was snowing! (there is snow on the mountain tops, we even had a snow ball fight after a long trek up to the mountain or actually by a chair lift.....

The Derby

The Kentucky Derby is coming up this Saturday, as well as Mother's Day on Sunday. I've always loved the big floppy hats decked out with bows and flowers and frills, as well as the beautiful dresses and high heels. My best friend Haley influenced me to do this post, she has a love for horses and has an amazing, classic style! Maybe some day we'll be sipping mimosas at the Kentucky Derby and I'll be pretending I know who to bet on (She actually will know). These are a couple outfits I can picture the women of The Derby wearing. Cheers!

Rejoice or repeat?

This week, as a country and world,we were shocked with the news that long-time threat, enemy and Al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden had been killed. After ten years since the marking of the act of September 11th, we have committed to a war that has killed thousands, experienced a new subject of racial profiling as well as installing a constant fear in the minds of us all. After this ten year long cat and mouse chase of the master mind of the Al Qaeda operation, the death of Bin Laden has shown a mark of progress we have made towards the end of an era of war, broken hearts and fear. I support our countries decisions on every level, and understand the excitement of the over-due termination of a crucial contributor,if not, sole brain washer of the terrorist acts upon our country.I can't help but feel a sense of confusion in the middle of the rejoicing of death of one man who has created our foremost decision to go to war, taking many lives of our own for the work towards peace.

is this peace?

sunday brunch

"There are few things this New Yorker loves more than Sunday Brunch. You can sleep until noon and still get eggs anywhere in the city, alcohol is often included in the meal and Sunday is the one day a week you can get the single woman's sports pages: The New York times wedding section.

even the birds are bumpin'

It's a beautiful day in Los Angeles! Sunshine, crisp air, beautiful green trees, blooming flowers mmmmmm. It was the perfect day to sun on the roof with my wonderful roomie and a stop by Starbucks for a chai tea latte (my fav) with some good friends and a trip to Susie Cakes (oops) for their amazing six layer celebration cake for the celebration of uhh..uh..US works :) .My best friend and I were discussing how our moods are so easily shaped by the weather that surrounds us. Thank god for beautiful southern Cali.
